Hi,
I have a vhd backup file which has server 2008 r2 os and i tried to run this vhd in virtualbox.
But when i run the vm an error shows up saying "Fatal: int18: boot failure".
I have searched this fault and tried some things but result is same.
Is there any way to fix this error or my vhd file is corrupted?
Thanks in advance.

A VHD is just a disk, and disks do not always contain a bootable OS. Experience in the past has taught us that Windows Backup did not create bootable images, though I've never studied what it actually DID do. Imaging backup tools (e.g. Acronis, Macrium) do create bootable images (*).
If it's a "Windows Backup" backup then it needs to be restored using Windows Backup, not attached directly to a VM.
(*) Edit: actually, come to think of it, they generally don't. They too create backups that must be "restored".
