Post by chaaarvy »

Hi. Sometimes when starting a machine, it errors:

"Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win7.

The virtual machine 'Win7' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code 1 (0x1). More details may be available in 'D:\Documents and Settings\xxxxx\VirtualBox VMs\Win7\Logs\VBoxHardening.log'.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: MachineWrap
Interface: IMachine {85cd948e-a71f-4289-281e-0ca7ad48cd89}"

Logs attached. Thanks

Please read really carefully the following FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues for some guidelines/ideas.

I'd start with completely uninstalling TrendMicro...
e10.8d0: supR3HardenedWinFindAdversaries: 0x8
e10.8d0: \SystemRoot\System32\drivers\tmcomm.sys:
...
e10.8d0: ProductName: Trend Micro Eyes
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

Thanks for the reply. I dont even have Trend Micro, but might have installed it once. I deleted that file and we'll see what happens.

Most likely thing to happen: the file is automatically restored and your problem continues.

IME you can't just just delete AV executables. You have to uninstall it properly, and reboot the host.

What I meant is that I dont currently have it installed but may have once installed it (and then uninstalled it). The file is still gone.
