[Fixed] Bridged network not working in Windows 10 guest

Post by asimov-solensan »

Hello,

First time in this forums because I just got a problem that I'm unable to fix.

The behaviour is pretty simple I got this Windows 10 guest, NAT configured NIC Works perfectly but if change it to bridged (to a wirless card) it never gets a DHCP address. This same bridged interface has worked on Windows 7, Ubuntu, debían, centos ... Therefor I'm absolutely sure that this is a problem related particularly with Windows 10.

Behaviour seems like the one described here:

[Fixed] Bridged networking 5.2.0 issues (#17186) (can't post link yet)

But, as told, only is happening in Windows 7.

My setup is Windows 10 host running Virtual Box 5.2.8, i upgraded from 5.1.28 because of this, but the problem wasn't solved.

Please what information can I provide to sort this out?

Can't be sure what was happening and how I solved it. I reinstalled VMWare tools and changed several times the network configuration on the host without changing anything on the host.

Magically it started working, but I have no idea about what was happening.
