Is 3D acceleration on RHEL 7.x Linux hosts still a supported feature with VirtualBox?
I ask, because since 5.2 was released, trying to use VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.x.iso with RHEL 7.x installed hosts results in an unusable system. Several releases have now been made in the 5.2.x branch, and this bug has not been fixed. This is a problem for me, because I teach students using VirtualBox, and 5.1.x worked okay, but whenever I have tried using the latest release, it all worked fine up until the point where I installed the Guest Additions.
Has 3D graphics support therefore been deprecated in 5.2.x for RHEL 7 guests? I can only assume so, since QA seems to have been abandoned in this respect.

Did you see the "Important:" line on the top of https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads ?

No, I must confess, because I had been looking here:Martin wrote:Did you see the "Important:" line on the top of https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads ?
https://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.2.6/
Interestingly, the "updated" VBoxGuestAdditions_5.2.7-120528.iso is not present (or linked to) in the 5.2.6 download directory. Had it been, I would have seen it.
EDIT: I tried the new image, but it seems much, much slower - especially the mouse pointer. It seems as if the "fix" was to disable 3D acceleration. So I'm back to using 5.1.x until this is fixed.

Try also the latest test builds.
FYI, you're the first one that reports such a symptom with the slow mouse. Please post a VBox.log (ZIPPED) from a complete cold-boot/login/shutdown the VM. Preferably after you've installed the test build and the matching GAs.
