Hi.
Im hoping someone can give me some adivce.
I am attempting to install Windows 10 as a VM on my current Windows 7 64bit Professional system.
I have set up the VM and began in Windows 10 installation.
My ISO file is sat on my C drive within Windows 7.
However after the first part of the installation has completed the systems reboots but brings me back to the start of the installation again.
Is there any reason for this? I am a beginner to the whole Virtual Machine world so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jack

You probably just failed to eject the (virtual) CD when prompted, so it just starts the cycle again.

OK So I tried it again.

So eject the CD (Devices|Optical Drives|Remove...) and restart the VM.
If you still have problems then provide a VM log file. After the VM is fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

Re: Trouble Installing W10 on Virtual Box.
Have you ever installed Windows on a physical machine? It would do just the same thing if you left the DVD in the drive and the machine was set up to boot from CD/DVD (as your vm is). You do not get a message to remove it because normally the "boot from DVD" option in the BIOS options is reset on reboot of a physical machine.
The two messages at the top of the screen are for information only. You can turn them off.
After you free up the optical drive on the vm, install the guest additions. (Devices tab of the vm window). This will improve the way the OS runs in a vm. And once more, release the file from the optical drive when you finish.

Re: Trouble Installing W10 on Virtual Box.
I don't see any obvious mistakes in the VM configuration. Perhaps you should try downloading the Win10 ISO again, and this time check the MD5 sum. In the end you seem to be having a Win10 support problem, so perhaps asking on a Windows support forum would be a good move.
p.s. Your host is not ideal for running a Win10 VM. Win10 really really wants two or more cores, unfortunately 2 cores is all you've got. Allocating both would allow the VM to deadlock the host.
