J'utilise Virtualbox 5.2.x depuis quelques temps, sur une machine réelle Windows10, pour "voir" Ubuntu, Mac osX, et Android.
Actuellement j'ai, entre autres, une machine XP32 (avec une clé d'installation, SP3/4) que je voudrai passer à windows 10.
La mémoire, le processeur, le DD sont à priori OK.
J'ai le problème suivant:
- si je boot directement sur le lecteur optique (qui contient l'iso W10) je parts pour une installation complète et non la mise à jour.
- si je clic sur le setup W10 en ayant windows xp actif j'ai "ce fichier n'est pas une application 32 bits valide"
Même message en voulant ouvrir avec 7-Zip.
A noter que je n'ai pas de virus, sfc /scannow est ok, le canal IDE de ATA/ATAPI est ok.
Seul problème, le PCI device a un point d'interrogation et impossible mettre à jour ???

First, please do not mention again running OS X on a non-Apple host, as that means you were violating copyright, and we cannot help people do that.
To your problem.
Unless I've misunderstood your question, I don't believe that it's possible to upgrade an XP installation to Windows 10. The PC (VM or not) has to be running Win7 or later.
In a separate issue, I don't believe it's possible to upgrade a 32bit OS to 64bit using an upgrade process. You must do a complete reinstall.
It seems to me that your best option is to install Windows 10 from scratch, into a blank PC or VM. Speaking as someone who just a year ago migrated directly from XP to Win10 myself, I'm glad that I bit this bullet and didn't waste my time trying to kludge a path between the two. In my case the thing I really didn't want to lose was my "Pale Moon" browser profile with all my bookmarks. Happily I was able to migrate that.
None of these questions actually have anything to do with VirtualBox. The fact that your PC manufacturer is "VirtualBox VM" does not change Microsoft upgrade capabilities.
