I have had a problem trying to start a saved VM. I got the error "Failed to open a session for the virtual machine ..."
I have attached the message dialog box. I have tried a solution quoted in another thread but without success.
If anyone has a solution I would appreciate it, the VM has some data one its drives which would take quite a few hours to re-create.

II use a win10 x64 host and the guest machine is also win 10 x64.

Further information. It appears that installing KB2267602 to load definitions 1.257.642.0 corrupts something and prevents a VM saved after successful installation from being started with this error message.
Confirmed by rolling back to snapshot taken before the update saved and restored OK but after the update did not.
This may happen to other Win 10 machines saved after this update will not be able to be restarted.

Discard the saved state. Search for previous discussions of this error.

Then you need to change search engines.

Sorry, from your previous reply I thought you were meaning an answer existed in the VirtualBox forums. Which it does not.
Maybe I should not ask questions here at all.

ALL of the answers returned by the above Google search originate on the VirtualBox forums. Indeed the search terms included a "site:forums.virtualbox.org" term in order to ensure precisely that.

If you meant that the internal forum search returned no results then I'll have to take your word for that, since I never bother with the internal search on any phpBB forum.
