Hi all, starting to think this is impossible but I have a Windows 10 64 bit host running a Windows Server 2008 VM and I'm trying to get the USB 3 port working.
I'm trying to use if for the speed benefits over USB 2.0 but it just wont install. I'm pretty sure I only need the drivers because the VM recognises it (shows with yellow exclamation in device manager) but I've tried 2 different drivers from Intel (that are supposed to work on Win 7 and 2008) but they just don't install.
Does anyone know of a solution to this please?
Thanks, John

Do you have a link to the drivers that won't install?
I also need to see a VM log. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in the GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Thanks for the reply. The 2 links I used were
It won't let me post URLs as I am only a new member but if you search Google for 'intel usb 3.0 driver' it is the 1st and 3rd result - hope that works.
and the Vbox.log is attached. Thank you

The VM looks ok, except that 512MB seems low for a Win2k8 server. 2GB is the recommended amount, and it looks like your host can afford that. I'd have given the VM two cores as well.
You say that the xHCI driver "just won't install". What exactly is the error message or other symptoms?
