After upgrading from 5.0.26 to version 5.1.24, my both windows XP virtual machines stopped booting, the one that i had in "saved mode", still could be brought online and "saved" again, but after a shut down of the guest machine, it froze on boot.
Have another windows 7 and windows server 2003, and both guest machines boot fine.
The host machine is Windows 10 - 64 bit
Hope that you have everything to diagnose the problem, and thanks for a quick answer or fix.

Re: Windows XP Guest, won't boot anymore
I don't know if this is your only problem, but you need to free up some host RAM. You are allocating more to the VM than you have available, and I suspect you are already aware of this since the RAM allocation looks tuned.VBox.log wrote: 00:00:02.025201 Host RAM: 8101MB (7.9GB) total, 1516MB available
...
00:00:02.314474 RamSize <integer> = 0x000000005e800000 (1 585 446 912, 1 512 MB)
00:00:02.314696 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000001200000 (18 874 368, 18 MB)
Also, 18MB is probably not enough graphics RAM for a GUI guest at a reasonable resolution. Surely the VM settings dialogs are already warning you about this. I'd increase this to 64MB - assuming you are able to free up host RAM.
Re: Windows XP Guest, won't boot anymore
Already tried changing the VRAM of guest machine to 64MB but the problem persists.
Also changed the guest machine available RAM to 512Mb and it stays the same, it doesn't pass the boot part, it even doesn't show the Windows XP Boot logo
Thanks

Re: Windows XP Guest, won't boot anymore
Try downgrading again. 5.1.24 is showing a bit of growing pains. Try 5.1.22, or an earlier but high number in the 5.1.## series. Don't forget to remove and downgrade the Extension Pack on the host to the same Virtualbox version too, if you have it installed.
Be sure you install Virtualbox properly by right-clicking the Virtualbox installer program and choose "Run As Administrator" from the right-click menu, even if your account is an administrator account. (Note that "right-click-Run-As-Administrator" is not "log-off-log-back-on-as-Administrator-double-click", and it is not "I'm-already-an-Administrator-so-I-don't-have-to". Running the installer with a usual double-click even under an Admin account will still not give you the necessary permissions.)
