Hi,
I beleive I triggered the above to disastrous effect. (Win10 unbootable).
Can someone confirm if not shutting down a guest Win7 32 bit system and the underlying win10 64 bit system powering off automatically would cause this level of damage?
Thanks

Re: Stope code 21a and disk locked
If you're asking whether having a guest running while the host OS shuts down will damage the host OS so the host can't reboot, then, no, that is very much not a typical result.

Re: Stop code 21a and disk locked
Fixed my machine and tried again.
Used defaults to set up the VB environment 10Gb VHD on the 'H' drive.
Host system is a multi harddrive dektop PC with Win 10 64bit (latest patches) installed. System volume ( Id 'C' Windows) is an SSD, as is the paging volume (Id 'F'). Memory 12Gb. VB version is 5.1.22.r115125 (Qt5.6.2) No additions installed.
Requested the VBox installer to run all from the hard drive.
VB asked for the DVD contining the guest (Win XP 32 Home)
Inserted disk and pressed 'START'
Immediate BSOD and text stating 'System Service Error'
Log attached
Hardening Log is too large; would need to be filtered
What needs to be corrected?
Thanks

Can you make sure that Hyper-V is deactivated on your host? If not, deactivate it and reboot.wmiked wrote: PC with Win 10 64bi
