VBOX 5.1.22 r115126 (Qt5.6.2)
I tried to install AVG antivirus on XP guest.
But VM starts to crash at XP boot time after installation.
"Loading last success config" at XP boot menu helps, now I can start guest OS, but it still without antivirus.
It seems like this promlem was always, and bug status "fixed" means nothing:

So, does anybody know any ligthwight antivirus, that works in XP guest?
VPN software ask for Antivirus with fresh databases, and doesnt work without antivirus.

But "obsolete" does mean that nobody cared enough to answer.Илдар wrote:and bug status "fixed" means nothing
Microsoft Security Essentials. It even gets virus updates, even though XP itself doesn't.Илдар wrote:So, does anybody know any ligthwight antivirus, that works in XP guest?
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Really?! Your VPN software asks for specific antivirus versions and dates? Will it work with the MS Security Essentials?Илдар wrote:VPN software ask for Antivirus with fresh databases, and doesn't work without antivirus.
Your problem is a known issue with Avast:
Enable VT-x in your computer, do a cold boot of your computer and see if that fixes it.00:00:01.526839 HM: HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes
