[Solved] Windows Install doesn't start

Post by Morris »

Hi @all!

I configured a new VM in Virtual Box on MacOS (everything up to date).
But when I start it the first time, it doesn't run.

It doesn't matter if I try to use a Windows CD or an image.

The Failure is:

Code: Select all

The VM session was aborted.
Fehlercode:
NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Komponente:
SessionMachine
Interface:
ISession {7844aa05-b02e-4cdd-a04f-ade4a762e6b7}
Any ideas?

Best regards

Does it happen with other guests as well?
What's your host? Complete version please.
What's your VirtualBox version? Complete details.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

Another machine (already installed) works still perfect.

Host: Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4
Virtual Box: Version 5.1.18 r114002 (Qt5.6.2)

So, VirtualBox seems to be working in general, it's just that VM that aborts at startup?

When it aborts, right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log". Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response (see the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form).

I would also like to see the "recipe" of the VM, the ".vbox" file. Right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager. Select "Show in Finder". ZIP the selected ".vbox" file and attach it to your response.
