I have installed Virtualbox 5.0.16 on Ubuntu 14.10. The guest system is Win7 pro 64bit. The laptop is a Tuxedo DC1704. For printing from all client a Network Printer is attached to the local network.
The network setting in Virtualbox is "network bridge". It is not possible to print directly from any of the applications installed on the guest system. The printer starts printing, at the moment, when the guest system is shut down and than restarted.
Printing from from an application on the linux host is going directly.
I hope that somebody has an idea what I could do in order to solve the problem.
Kind regards

Re: Printing directly from Windows 7 pro guest to Network Printer
Did you install printer drivers in the guest? If not then it may be worth checking out what drivers were installed by plug and play.
Re: Printing directly from Windows 7 pro guest to Network Printer
Thank you very much for your advice. It bought me back onto the right track.
I was assuming, that Virtualbox is not transferring the print queue from the guest to the host.
As the printer started printing after shut down and restart of the guest, I assumed the driver to be ok.
in view of your comment I deleted/reinstalled the driver and now printing is perfect.
Thank you very much, the issue is solved
