[Solved] USB driver not installing
I am running virtualbox 5.0.12 with guest additions with a Windows 7 Pro guest on a Mageia5 host. The guest captures my usb external drive but the drive will not show up in the guest. Windows tells me the driver will did install properly and device manager tells me the driver for the USB Controller is not installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the host USB port and device USB3? If so then you may need to install USB3 drivers in the guest OS, before you can install drivers for the device itself. Windows 7 did not have native (MS supplied) drivers for USB3, but the Intel xHCI drivers are easily available.

DUH...Sometimes the simple things can be overlooked. I feel like an idiot now. Thanks for pointing that out though.
