Hi, I have a 2nd hard drive in my machine machine called E:
As virtual box doesn't recognize it, I had to set it up as a shared network folder. My problem is that once anything is written to it, the files etc become read only.
I have double checking the setting in Virtual Box, and the shard folder is set to full access and auto mount, I have also checked the setting with the virtual machine, and they are also set to full access and auto mount. Neither of the settings have read only ticked.
Can anyone help, it must be something very simple which I am doing wrong or not doing.
Regards
Chris

Re: Shared Folder Read Only
Virtual Machines are not supposed to recognize host hardware. They recognize virtual hardware.
Giving the VM unfettered access to an entire drive, presumably just on a whim, doesn't seem to me like a good move.

Re: Shared Folder Read Only
Unless I missed it you can't have the same folder set up as a network share and a VirtualBox shared folder.
