Yes it worked. Now you can follow Step 2 of the HOWTO which will tell you how to resize the logical space in the disk, which needs to be done at the guest OS level.

Virtualbox drives are general small, therefore if possible always save on your host machines shared folder-s. This also saves your work in case the vm crashes on saving the machine state.
I never had any trouble with Windows XP. but Windows 7 and 10 have crashed on saving machine state a few times, So has Debian Wheezy with Linux CNC.

I ran out of space on my VM and followed the procedure to expand the virtual drive from 25GB to 80GB. The "modifyhd" instructions seemed to work, when I view the settings of the VM says the storage space is now 80GB. But when I view in the Disk Management window or with the GParted software it shows only 25GB total leaving me unable to increase the size of the partition. Any ideas? Thanks
