Host system: Linux Mint 17.1 x64 Cinnamon desktop, i7 2.3Ghz, 16GB RAM, Intel 4 Gen GPU.
Guest system: Windows 10 x64, 2 Procs, 4GB RAM, Chipset PIIX3, Pointing Device USB Tablet, Enable I/O APIC, ParaVirtualisation: Default, VT-x/AMD-V & Nested paging enabled, Video RAM 128MB, 2D Accel ON, 3D Accel OFF.
I'm getting double cursors on a Windows 10 guest. With Mouse Integration ON I see an arrow pointer as well as a vertical bar cursor (in an editor like say Visual Studio) but with Mouse Integration OFF I see just the applications bar cursor but it's very slow.
In general I'm finding Windows 10 x64 to be much slower than my previous Windows 7 x32 VM. It's just unpleasantly laggy. Only just usable for serious work.
Any tips to sort this out would be appreciated.
TIA
Craig

Did you install the guest additions?
Attach the VBox.log (compressed) here for the guest.

Yes, Guest additions are installed and the log, duly zipped is attached. VB is V5.0.2 r102096
Thanks.
Thanks.

Why? Are these problems known to be fixed in that release? Usually, VB will tell me when there's a new release to be installed. Nothing recently.

Well you missed VB 5.0.4 and VB 5.0.6 was just released. It has numerous fixes for Windows 10.

Re: Double Cursor and General Slowness in W10 Guest
Good news if it has W10 fixes in it. VB's "Check for updates" tells me I'm running the latest version already. Maybe that needs fixing as well
I'll see what's available on the VB web site.
Thanks.

Ok, I've installed VB5.0.6 and the response to mouse and keyboard is more acceptable now. Thanks for that.
However I still have the double cursor issue in Visual Studio, or any simple text editor.

I've never used Virtual Studio on metal or a VM so not sure about that. I do know I have no "double cursor" in my Windows 10 guest. Do you have mouse integration enabled?

Re: Double Cursor and General Slowness in W10 Guest
So two years on and a couple of fresh machine builds later, I still get double cursors in Visual Studio (2015 and 2017). W10 is up to date with latest patches as is VB. It's only when the mouse is over the code editor window.
