Hi all, I am new and have not used a virtual machine is some years, Decided to start it again for fun, but have encountered this. Do I need to install into the virtual box or not? I thought it was doing it with my selection of os but maybe not. Thanks for the help.
Tried taking a screen shot and it would not do it. Its a black screen and says simply: Failed. No medium was found to boot from.

You need an OS intall CD or ISO to install in the guest provided by Virtualbox.
For a physical CD, point the guest's virtual CD drive at the host's physical CD drive, put an OS install CD in your CD drive, then boot the guest.
For an ISO, attach the install ISO to the guest's virtual CD drive then boot the guest.
For a physical CD, point the guest's virtual CD drive at the host's physical CD drive, put an OS install CD in your CD drive, then boot the guest.
