Dynamically attaching USB devices to headless VM under VRDP

Post by jzzcutler »

If I start a VM normally, I get a console window and the Devices menu tab allows me to connect to and disconnect from a USB device. When I start the VM as headless, and connect using the VRDP feature, how do I connect/disconnect USB devices? More generally how do I get to all the menu options that are available to the console user? I am running a Windows 7 guest under Windows 7. I use this USB device with multiple VMs and bounce it around between them so I can't just connect it in settings.
