I may have misunderstood your question. When you installed the guest additions did you choose the WDDM driver? Windows 10 certainly works as a guest. However, I don't think there is any way to know right now whether any checks by "Get Windows 10" will allow a VM to be upgraded. If it won't upgrade, I can't see how that would affect your Windows 7 license.

However, when I choose to "Check your PC" (from the menu within the upgrade to Windows 10 wizard), I receive a warning that Windows 10 cannot be installed, due to the (VirtualBox) graphics adapter driver.

I am not concerned abut my W7 license. I am concerned that I am not getting the "Get Windows 10" icon that all other users of W& or W8.1 are getting currently. Why not? And is it because of something in my configurations, or something to do with Virtualbox not allowing that icon to get through for some reason.
Make sense now?
Perryg wrote:Not sure what your problem is but to answer your question you should be able to upgrade the guest to W-10 when it is available. I have the icon on my W-7 guest.
I can also say that there is work being done, but with all the breakage from MS it is not top priority until MS stop breaking things. Way to much work to fix it then it gets broken again.
