Defragging virtual disk images that reside on a SSD
Defragging virtual disk images that reside on a SSD
I have a Windows 7 VM running on a virtual disk image that resides on a SSD drive. Is there any performance gained by defragging drives under this scenario?

I'm going to say, no. The SSD can serve up any data in it in the same amount of access time, regardless of where in the SSD's memory the data is stored. Defragging will just burn up write cycles without any benefit in access time.
