Printing slow with Windows Guest on Ubuntu host

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) as the host and have tried both Windows XP SP2 as well as Windows Vista as guests.

Everything works well except printing.

I am using a Dell 962 all-in-one printer hooked up to a dell wireless 3300 print adapter so I can print from any computer on my network.

Printing works correctly (including the ink management system, etc.) but it is very slow (50 times slower than normal).

Has anyone else seen this? or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

SOLVED - Problem was due to virtual network using NAT

I fixed the problem by changing the settings of the virtual machine network adapter from NAT mode to Host Interface.

Apparently there are several limitations in NAT mode and the Dell printer drivers are impacted by them. The instructions I followed to switch from virtual networking mode can be found here
