How to setup virtualbox to allow LAN booting

Post by doglover129 »

I am not sure if this is possible but I am confused. Can I set up virtualbox on a server computer so the client can actually boot from LAN rather than the hard disk? I am a systems admin but I have never worked with virtual desktops before. We want to use virtual systems in a testing building and it would be nice if it was free. I understand that it may not be an option to use virtual box but Its worth a shot! So, is this possible?

*I am sorry if this is a duplicate. Also, let me know if I am not descriptive enough. Thanks! :)

There are two ways to achieve this :
1. In NAT mode using NAT PXE Booting - More details here
2. Any other mode with Intel simulated cards but required the extention pack (subject to licensing) - More details here
Hyperbox - Virtual Infrastructure Manager - https://apps.kamax.lu/hyperbox/
