Host: Thinkpad T61 running Kubuntu 7.10. Networked via wireless.
I installed vbox (1.5.6) for the first time and an XP Pro guest using a CD with SP3 made by a friend. I can't get networking up on the guest.
I'm not really a Windows guy, but here goes...
The device manager says the PCNet adapter is there and "working properly". I reloaded the driver from the GuestAdditions ISO just in case.
"Network Connections" is empty and if i reload it, I get a dialog saying make sure the "Network Connections" service is running. So I start it.
The "Network Setup Wizard" says "An error occurred during configuration...". After which, "Network Connections" has an entry for the PCNET with "Limited or no connectivity."
The "Network Troubleshooter" doesn't come up.
The machine settings are for NAT. The NAT server is an automatic part of vbox , isn't it?
Ideas?
Thanks,
