Double and single quotes Cedilha and other issues for latin

Post by mewrs »

Hello there...

I tryed to search first... And I found some people with the same problem but no fix at all...

I would like to know how to use the quotes key in the guest system.

I have Ubuntu Gutsy as HOST and Windows XP SP2 as GUEST.
In the host I have the keyboard configured as US International. In the guest I put the same, but the QUOTE KEY is dead! It produces nothing!

What can I do?

Thank you in advance!

If you set it to US International, the quote keys are 'dead' keys, meaning you have to type a space after it for the character to show. If, for example, you want to type the character é, you would first type a single quote ' and then the e, which will result in é. Same for other characters that can be used as accent sings. To list a few/all: ' " ~ ` and ^ can be used for those purposes.
