Nope just follow the instructions as I wrote them for now. No need to add more steps or confusion.

step five If there is a gateway still there delete the guests adapter and reboot the guest.
Check the guest again to see if that cleared the guest gateway issue.
Let me know what happens but do nothing else until I see what happens.

This is what you want to see. Notice no gateway.
Continue with the next step.

There IS a gateway...Perryg wrote:step four look at the ipconfig and make sure there is no gateway.
Are you sure?Perryg wrote:step five If there is a gateway still there delete the guests adapter and reboot the guest.
What do you mean by "guest gateway issue"?Perryg wrote:Check the guest again to see if that cleared the guest gateway issue.

Re: Help needed setting up Host-only subnet.
Look up two posts. That is what you must see. There is no gateway for the host-only adapter. If you have one it will not work.

Re: Help needed setting up Host-only subnet.
Okay. I'll delete the Guest's adapter. Do I do that by disabling it, or do you want me to drill down into the TCPIP driver and uninstall it?
PS: I'm sure you know that I can remove the gateway without deleting the Guest's adapter (whatever "delete" means in that context).

Re: Help needed setting up Host-only subnet.
Look in your network connections and find the local area connection #. Right click and select delete.
Make sure there are none others there.

Re: Help needed setting up Host-only subnet.
The driver is not the issue it the adapter in the registry. I see delete but it is greyed out. There are two possibilities and one is you need admin priv to delete it and the other is it can not be deleted while active. I would disable it and then see if you can delete it. If not then leave it disabled and reboot the guest.

Rebooting the Guest...
...Okay, now the Guest has no network. Now what?

Re: Help needed setting up Host-only subnet.
You right click on the top level (VIRTUAL)
You can at this point go ahead and delete the AMD PCnet device first.
