vbox log. In the meantime try disabling AMD-VT in the guest settings from vbox.

Re: me startup bsod
Heres the text that the bsod says.
There is a problem with a system file. windows might not be able to run correctly. You might be able to fix this using system restore. If this does not work try reinstalling windows.
VxD dynamic link call : VFAT (01) = 00007A31 to "C08B" , service 3046
To continue running windows choose Yes. Be aware that your computer might become unstable.
To quit windows choose no. You will lose any unsaved information. Do you want to continue running windows?
Press Y for Yes or N for No :
Keep in mind that I dont have a system restore file and that i have reinstalled windows twice

Re: me startup bsod
The same error happens in windows 98
It could be the ram (512 mb) or the vdi (4.00 GB)

And with win95 too. Its your turn, give facts, answer the above post.
At the moment we only know, that it does not work.

Re: me startup bsod
I created a Win98 SE VM with IE6 and updates under VirtualBox 3.2.12 in December 2010.
Now under 4.1.0 the VM still works without BSOD, but seems to be slower.
VM settings
System: 512 MB RAM, no IO-APIC, 1 CPU, no PAE/NX, no VT-x/AMD-V
Video: 10 MB VRAM, 1 display, No 2D, no 3D
Storage: 2GB HDD
Audio: ICH AC97
Network: PCnet-FAST III
Serial: No
USB: No

Re: me startup bsod
I just wanted to post a working configuration for the people who have BSOD problems.
So changing to 64MB and SB16 made no difference to my VM.

Re: me startup bsod
Sometimes its difficult to install WinDOS.
Play with all settings, sometimes you get a step forward. Maybe now enabling VT helps.
Butter better try to install Windows instead of WinDOS. XP is a good starter, older versions are not usable.
