BSOD with Win7 IE Application Compatibility VPC Images

I have successfully used the XP images with VirtualBox. However, I need to test with IE9 and the images will not boot with VirtualBox.

[*] The system will blue screen and reboot. It reboots before I can read the message. I tried changing the crashcontrol reg settings with no luck. Also can't seem to find a dump file
[*] safe mode will not boot... BSOD
[*] I can boot to the repair mode which detects and repairs a few file permissions, but nothing major.
[*] while in repair mode I can get to a DOS prompt and run regedit
[*] from the DOS prompt, I tried installing the VirtualBox guest drivers... got an error half way through and retried and went to completion

Argghh just solved it. The problem was that the disk image was being mounted on the sata controller. When I mounted it on the IDE controller it worked. I'm leaving this up in case someone else has this problem.
