I updated from 3.2.8 t 4.0.4 today, and everything was working fine. It informed me that Additions was out of date, so I updated. Everything worked as normal until I restarted the VM.
After that, AutoCAD loaded fine, but when I tried to open a dialogue ('Layers' or 'Open File'), the VM instantly re-started, no errors, no blue-screen-of-death, just Windows starting again.
Downgrading to Additions 3.2.8 fixed the problem. Do I need to change some settings before using Additions 4.0.4 to make it work properly, or is this a bug?

Re: Guest Additions 4.0.4 kills AutoCAD
I had the same problem. MacBook Pro upgraded to Virtual Box 4.0.4. Installed New Guest Editions with 3D support (in safe mode) Autocad 2011 opens then crashes Win 7
Rolled back to 3.2.12 and it works again.
