Isn't this nice?

The way I got the Ubuntu panel on to of the Windows taskbar was to create a new panel under the existing panel and drag the taskbar to the bottom of the screen. But as soon as you touch any Ubuntu the taskbar disappears. You can set Virtualbox to be always on top, then the taskbar stays on top but all the Windows applications and windows do too.

If there was a way to have the taskbar about 25 pixels higher on the screen you could have both a panel with a taskbar on top of it without interfering with each other or vice versa, which would be awesome.

Of course you can always keep Windows on top and Ubuntu on the bottom (hah!) which doesn't seem to cause issues at all.

Very nice!

This is Seamless Mode, right? I do something similar. My Ubuntu (host) taskbar is on the bottom, and my XP (guest) taskbar is at the top, set to automatically hide. Just as the mode name implies, it's completely seamless switching back and for between the VM and the host system.

<3 seamless mode so much.
