Bridged, or Samba. Beyond that, it's a personal choice.

Bridged requires some hoops, Samba requires some different hoops.
Are you familiar with configuring bridged networking in Virtualbox?
Are you familiar with configuring Samba?

Two people talking about different things. No wonder no one understands the other
@TE:
What is the Host? VB Version? Guest?
What is needed for the Guest in the network?
Give us Infos, so help is possible.

Really?
Bridged is a Network Adapter.
Samba is a Windowslike Fileserver for Linux.
Its like apple and pears.

Remember the first ambiguous question posed here in the "Windows Guests" forum:
"What would be the best mode for networking for windows 2003".
A windblows network can be accessed through a windwoes guest vm, by a bridged network adapter, or via Samba.
You Dutch, you only see it your way.

Sorry, but for me it is a little bit unclear what this thread is talking about.
OK, here we are talking about Windows Guests and I guess it is Windows 2003 (although it wasn't said, it may be another Win OS).
But what is the host? Is it also Windows 2003 or Linux?
Does a bridged network adapter mean that it is bridged with another adapter (on Windows) or added to a bridge (on Linux)?
Or what?

@Ingo: Forget it. The TE has no interest. The questions were asked above, but not answered.
