No Vboxsvr on Vista Guest, XP Host

Post by HughJorgan »

Noobie help please - installed Virtualbox on XP SP2, running Ubuntu 7.04 and Vista guests. Shared folders work fine in Ubuntu but in Vista Guest, I get network error 53 when giving the net use command for my share.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Problem solved by 1.4 - one happy bunny now sharing XP folders with a Vista guest :D

In OS X?

Vista Guest, but with an OS X host. net use x: \\vboxsvr\OSX returns "The network path was not found"; the same setup and command worked fine in the XP host.

I did install the network driver since I read that you have to for Vista Hosts (another difficulty in that the USB functionality also doesn't seem to work on the OS X host--all the controls for USB in Global Settings are greyed out). I can connect t the internet fine, just not the shared folders.
