YUV support in display driver?

I have a multimedia application that requires support for YUV video by the video driver in Windows. It complains that the VirtualBox driver does not support this mode. Is there any way to enable support for this, or are there plans to support it in a future release?

I need a virtualization solution for the Mac that supports Windows guests with YUV video and jumbo-frame Ethernet. So far, I know VMware Fusion supports YUV but not jumbo-frames, Parallels does not support jumb-frames and I haven't bothered to test YUV, and VirtualBox supports jumbo-frames, but not YUV.

Any ideas?

Have you enabled 2D video acceleration in the VM settings, and have you installed the latest guest additions? (they must be installed in safe mode).

YUY2 support normally goes hand in hand with video overlay support, so hopefully this feature would be available when 2D acceleration is enabled.

Thanks for the tip. I did have the 2d/3d acceleration settings enabled, but I did not install the additions in safe mode, so apparently they were not working correctly. After installing in safe mode, the driver does advertise support for YUV. Unfortunately, there seems to be some incompatibility with my application as the overlay does not refresh correctly (at all). Sometimes when I resize the window I get a picture, but when I do, it's flipped and the colors are out of whack.

Also, I did some experimenting and found that YUV support was only advertised by the driver when installing the experimental 3d support in additions.
