Windows XP and Vista both give same error message

I managed to get Windows XP and Windows Vista working as guests on my Linux box, but now when I try to run either guest I get the following error:

Unknown error creating VM (VERR_HOSTIF_INIT_FAILED).
VBox status code: -3100 (VERR_HOSTIF_INIT_FAILED).

What is with your network card or your virtual devices vbox0/tap0 or your virtual network adapters of the VM?
