Cannot get USB to work in Windows XP Guest on Fiesty Host

Hi,

I've installed VirtualBox 1.5 and set up a Windows XP guest, however I can't seem to get any USB devices to work. They are detected successfully by windows, but always fail to start up ("This device cannot start. (Code 10)"). I've followed a thread in the Ubuntu forums trying to make some progress, but nothing has helped.

Can anyone tell me where to look for error messages in the Ubuntu host that might give me some clues as to what's going wrong?

anyone? This problem is really annoying me. Everyone else who has had this problem seems to be able to resolve it but none of the reported fixes have worked for me.

I've upgraded Fiesty to Gibbon and 1.5 to 1.5.2, but the problem remains the same.
