NETWORKING NOT WORK IN WINDOWS XP AS GUEST

Post by tanaka »

Please Help, I try your program (Virtual Box ver1.5) and success for installing, but didn't work for networking.
My configuration computer :
1. motherboard ecs 661fx-m7
2. hdd seagate 80 gb
3. processor intel 2.66 ghz
4. asus dvd rom
5. modem Adsl dare global DB-108E
6. System Operation : Windows XP Service Pack 2 ( Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600 )

Software on the ground (stay resident software) : Comodo antivirus, Comodo verification engine, Comodo Firewall and BO Clean ver 4.25

My motherboard have ethernet card onboard with brand Sis 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter, Driver in used for networking is sis900 Lan driver v1.19 (I download from www.sis.com).

I had fill ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, Preferred DNS server and alternate DNS server like my host computer (win xp sp2).
The guest system operation software is winxp sp2 too.

I fill this in "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" in computer host:
* Use the following IP address:
IP address : 192.168.xxx.2
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway : 192.168.xxx.1

* Use the following DNS server addresses
Preferred DNS server: 202.134.x.x
Alternate DNS server: 202.134.x.x

I fill this in "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties" in computer guest:
* Use the following IP address:
IP address : 192.168.xxx.3
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 (same like host)
Default gateway : 192.168.xxx.1 (same like host)

* Use the following DNS server addresses
Preferred DNS server: 202.134.x.x (same like host)
Alternate DNS server: 202.134.x.x (same like host)

For networking in virtual box software (ver 1.5) I do :
1. Start VBox
2. Select VM
3. Click on Settings
4. Click on Network on the left side
5. Tick Enable Network adapter
6. Select NAT under Attached to
7. Click OK

I try all option configuration in virtual box setting in network menu.

The First step :
I fill ( adapter 0 ) Attach to "NAT" result = fail

The Second step :
I fill ( adapter 0 ) Attach to "Host Interface" result = fail

The Third step :
I fill ( adapter 0 ) Attach to "Internal Network" result = fail

, but didn't work. Please help, How can I configure virtual network card to use in my computer ?

Thank you very much for your help.
