move windows to other pc.

I want to run a windows XP guest that was created on a different PC.
Windows doesn't like this and returns me a blue screen when starting.

I guess this have something to do with the fixed settings for the drive determined during windows setup.

Vmware detects this somehow and pops up a dialog box to fix this. (I don't recall the exact message anymore) Is the same functionality present in virtualbox ?

if not, what should I do then ?

I seem to remember that there's a link to a tutorial somewhere in this forum, explaining how to move a virtual Windows machine to an other physical HDD.

Txs for the link. I seem to remember having seen a tutorial somewhere, how to change the registry entries concerning the hardware before(!) exporting the vm to an other HDD, so the VM will be recognized on the new system.
I am happy that your problem is solved already.
