2008 Server (Longhorn) problem downloading anything

Post by nunjabusiness »

Subject says it all:

VM of 2008 Server Beta 3 absolutely refuses to download anything using IE and unfortunately I can't use Firefox because I can't download it!

Anybody else seen this behavior?

Does your network connection within the VM is working properly (NAT by default)? Do you get an answer with:

Code: Select all

No, sorry. It was not that I couldn't get the AMD PCnet driver working. What was happening was that I would open a webpage and click on a download and as soon as it started downloading IE7 would crash.

I ended up scrapping that VM and doing a fresh setup. That problem is long gone now. Now I have a different issue - browsing my local network shares because of different IP address usage.

I posted another message in a different section here about that.
