i have an alsa driver and two sound cards in my machine. the first is a dead motherboard card and the second is a pci soundcard. alsa shows both and i can see both devices with the dead one begine device 0 and the card as device 1.
switchng sound to the alsa driver in vbox switches the sound output to the dead motherboard sound output. how do i tell it to use the pci card (device 1) instead ??

linux sounds work fine since i can select the second device on the desktop control panel (debian etch default install).
