Guest Extensions Crashes Host

Post by jrt54 »

The guest extension accidentally got installed on a host WinXP system (install autostarted upon mounting).

Any mouse movement immediately crashes the host system now!

I uninstalled the extensions from the add/remove control panel and restarted. Still crashing.

Uninstalled and reinstalled the logitech mouse drivers and restarted. Still crashing.

How do I purge the guest host extensions from a host system?

Suggest that the guest extension install should check and refuse to install on a host system.

Thanks in advance.

Happened to me once. I used the latest system restore point before installing the guest additions, of course you must do that without using the mouse....
