Windows crashing when enabling network

My windows crash after 'enabling' the network. I don't know much about windows internals so maybe there is an alternative fix to enable the network.
I am using a NAT at the moment (but I switch to tap1), and running virtual box on mandriva 2007.1 and the VB version is 1.4.0
