Additions-Resize only after restart of VM possible

Hi!

I've got a problem with all of my VMs:
- Host: XP SP2
- Guest: XP
- VirtualBox: 1.4

I installed the vm, cloned it (via 'clonevm') and installed the guest additions and the specific programs it was made for. After that I also changed some settings (clipboard-usage etc.). I did all of that 3 times with 3 VMs.

Now I found out, that the resizeing-feature of the additions doesn't work when the VMs was just paused. It still works fine after rebooting the VM.

I can't find a topic explaining this, neither in the documentation nor in this board.

Any idea?
Thx

Maybe, someone could make a short test of this and tell me, if he's got the same problem?!
Just start a VM with additions installed, pause it and restart it. Then post, if resizing is possible without rebooting the VM.

Big THX

I have a similar problem. After starting the virtual machine from saved state, auto resize guest display is disabled in the menu and doesn't work. Restarting the machine fixes this. This happens every time.

The problem does not occur after pausing and resuming the machine however.

I'm running Windows XP Professional as the guest, and Kubuntu Gutsy AMD64 as the host with VirtualBox 1.4 (not OSE). I'm using the AMD64 package for Feisty.

OK, I think I'll write a bug-report tomorrow.

Thanks!

Ah, OK. This time I found this bug in the list. Status is reopened. I don't know, why I didn't find it 2 weeks ago... my bad!
