Lower Vista Guest CPU usage?

Post by Specter043 »

I have Windows Vista installed in a virtualbox, and it boots up and runs fine. The only problem is the CPU usage is always at 100%, resulting in significant lag. I have a Pentium 4 3.06ghz with HT. I don't know if my processor isn't strong enough or what. Does anyone know if I can dedicate one of the hyperthreaded CPUs to the Virtualbox? I don't even know if that's possible, but i'm just brainstorming to get the cpu usage down. If that isn't possible, does anyone have any ideas?

Try disabling HT in BIOS.
