I'm busy replacing my Windows box with Ubuntu and a VirtualBox windows OS. I tried using VMWare Server (the free edition) an it was worse than useless for me. (USB support is terrible, and I couldn't find a way to have a dynamically sized "partition" file)
My problem is that I'm having issues getting certain windows programs to read files in my \\vboxsvr shares, but they work fine if I connect to a standard samba share on my linux host. From that I assume that I'm having similar issues to Bug #437.
In the resolution it says that "As the Windows shared folder driver is not part of OSE, you can't easily try it." So I was wondering how can I go about "easily try[ing] it"?
