Can't access COM ports in XP MS-DOS

Post by ferryside »

A DOS program I want to use apparently won't work unless it's accessed from native 16-bit MS-DOS. The closest I'm getting to that is booting to the command line from a Windows XP guest using a virtualbox VM. Problem is, when I boot into the cmd line, the com ports are no longer recognized To clarify, the "mode" command doesn't list any com ports. When I boot into XP normally, however, both com ports I have mapped directly to real serial ports are recognized and usable. Any way I can get safe mode to recognize my serial ports? Thanks!! :D :D
