Windows 10 Crash when unzipping large file

Post by benjaperez »

Good morning to you all.

I`m having an issue with a Win10 Machine.

Whenever I need to unzip a large file (160 MB) which is transfered to the virtual machine first, it just crashes with no message and does not give any extra information (even on the logs).

Has anyone had thi issue before?

So far I allocated max memory, storage and processor allowed, disabled usb ports, serial ports, network, etc.

Thanks

Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

The recipe for this VM doesn't bear much relationship to what resources your host PC can afford to lose.

E.g. You should not be giving 22GB RAM to a VM when 22GB is everything you have left. That's a recipe for crashes. I would reduce the VM allocation to 16GB or even 8GB.

Likewise, you assigned 8 out of 8 CPU cores to the VM. Reduce to 2, which nearly always plenty for a VM. Note that VirtualBox is a host application, it is not guest code, so assigning all cores to guest code will definitely not make VirtualBox go faster - quite the opposite.

You should enable 3D acceleration.

I suspect your main problem will be because you have Hyper-v enabled.

Thanks for your reply!

Well, I`ve checked the things you said, reduced memory, processor and enabled the acceleration.

On the other hand, the Hyper-V is disabled (checked via UI and via script).

But keep having the same issue.

Attaching the log.
