The same problem.
After upgrading to VB7.0, the Windows 11 vm must enable 3D acceleration, otherwise the Windows 11 vm will freeze at any time, and the VM activity shows that the VM CPU load is very high when it freezes. The same is true for VMs created using the new template or for existing VMs.

same problem
After upgrading to VB7.0, my Windows 11 guest freezes after a few moment of using.
I followed rexcat's advice = enable 3D acceleration = solved the problem.

Re: Afted update to VB 7 Windows 11 VM freezes on bootscreen
In my case 3D acceleration was already enabled, i even heard the windows logon screen sound, but the screen still stays in the bios uefi loading. My host CPU load is normal, but the memory is 97% full. When i disable 3D acceleration, the machine gives critical error.
I really nedd to use this VM, i wonder if there´s a way to downgrade to VB6 (i already installed VB7 guest adittions)

You can simply remove V7.0.0 and install 6.1.40 . Should only take a few minutes. Make sure that the vms have current backups if you are concerned.
If you are worried about the GAs, remove them from the guest before you remove version 7, then reinstall after you install V6.1.40 .

That is the hardening log, not the VM log. Plus the exit code is 0, showing you don't have a hardening problem.Gasmart81 wrote:Here they are
Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Re: Afted update to VB 7 Windows 11 VM freezes on bootscreen
Before you zip the saved log file per Mpack's directions above, please open the log and look at the first line. If it looks something like this:
00:00:01.142914 VirtualBox VM 7.0.0 r153978 {host-computer-OS} (Oct 6 2022 19:00:47) release log
Then it is the VM's log. Zip and post as directed.
If the first line looks like this:
5744.5778: \SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll:
then it's the hardening log. Please be absolutely sure that you tried to save the far left tab's vbox.log. Try it again. If you keep getting the hardening log when you save the far left vbox.log, please let us know.
(There have been a couple topics where a posted vbox.log turned out to be a hardening log, and I suspect there may be an off-by-one error in log saving in 7.0.0. I might be wrong, though.)

No, you're right. I documented that behavior yesterday in VBox 7.0.0 - Log Viewer cannot save VBox.log file, especially to inform the volunteers and moderators.scottgus1 wrote:There have been a couple topics where a posted vbox.log turned out to be a hardening log, and I suspect there may be an off-by-one error in log saving in 7.0.0. Yes, here are provisional new instructions for providing a VM log.
Make sure the VM is fully shut down. Browse into the VM folder, then the "Logs" subfolder, and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Re: Afted update to VB 7 Windows 11 VM freezes on bootscreen
For a test, uninstall the LG OnScreen Control software and reboot your host. If the issue persists, provide a (zipped) VBoxHardening.log file.
Re: Afted update to VB 7 Windows 11 VM freezes on bootscreen
I will test it later, but in the same host environment, neither win7 vm nor win10 vm has the problem of random freezing.
