After recent windows 10 host update, virtualbox 6.1.xx running windows 10 guest becomes very slow - the cause is dwm keep crashing, flashing with black screen forever. (Same problem on 6.1.30 or 6.1.38)
The only workaround i found is to use legacy paravirtualization interface.

Re: windows 10 guest dwm crash on default paravirtualization interface
Lots of people have VMs which are successfully using the paravirtualization API to talk to VirtualBox, so I'm not satisfied by your suggestion.
Please provide a VM log file. Make sure the VM is fully shut down, then right click it in the manager UI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.
