Hello.
I've installed Windows XP Por 64bit and have tried to run the gest additions, but in safe mode or normal the Direct3D support is greyed out...
Is this the way it is for XP or am I doing something wrong?
Windows XP and Direct3D?

Re: Windows XP
3D acceleration in XP guests was dropped as a feature in 6.1.x.
Re: Windows XP and Direct3D?
Thanks for the reply.
Was there problems with the 3D acceleration in XP?

Re: Windows XP and Direct3D?
VirtualBox 6.1.x introduced new virtual graphics controllers (VMSVGA and VBoxSVGA), but these only have driver support from Windows 7 onwards.
Part of the reason for introducing the new controllers was that code behind the old controller (VBoxVGA) was apparantly a spaghetti, unsecurable mess. So that code was deleted from the VBoxVGA controller emulation that otherwise remains.
End result: no 3D acceleration for Windows versions older than Win7.
