I have a Windows 7 guest that I've been using for a long time. I went to update the guest additions to 6.1.32 and the process failed with a "no signature was present in the subject" message. I tried two or three ways of disabling driver verification, none of which worked. Finally, I downloaded the 6.1.26 ISO and it worked with no problem. This problem seems to recur every couple of years.
What's causing this? It's not the guest. Can this be fixed permanently?

Actually, half of it is. The security signing protocols used by the world nowadays have gone beyond Windows 7's level of security signing. Web-search how to update Windows 7 to SHA256 security signing, then 6.1.32 GAs should install.steve112358 wrote:It's not the guest.
